Support Workers in disability organisations are required to assist people with disabilities do the jobs of life they cannot do for themselves such as getting out of bed, going to the toilet, having a shower and getting dressed for the day. This can be a challenging task when the client has difficulty moving themselves but also cognitive impairment and possible behavioural problems. The support worker is required to do these tasks for clients everyday, no matter how hard they find them.

In this webinar we will talk about some of the main challenges we see many disability organisations can find with handling the needs of their client in these personal care tasks.

  • Clients or support workers can be at inadvertently at risk of injury by the way in which care is delivered.
  • In some instances care can be delivered inefficiently costing more than it needs to and leaving less time for the client and support workers to engage in meaningful tasks
  • Finally, the care can be a poor quality resulting in a poor experience for the client but also a risk to the brand of the organisation. Organisations can find they have difficulty attracting clients and holding onto good staff.

We will provide some tips in managing these three challenges to enable Disability Organisations start to deliver care smartly where the risks are mitigated, delivered efficiently and of exceptional quality.

The webinar will run for 45 minutes with 10 minutes at the end for questions
